The race at Jeddah wasn't without controversy as Max Verstappen was given a five-second penalty for passing Piastri off track at the start of the race, which led to a very terse and tense series of post-race answers from the reigning drivers' champion.

Verstappen ended up finishing second in Saudi Arabia and left the Kingdom third in the championship behind McLaren's Lando Norris, while Piastri has the championship lead.

Norris endured a tough weekend, crashing out in qualifying and starting 10th - but he recovered to fourth.

That meant Ferrari's Charles Leclerc completed the podium. His team-mate Lewis Hamilton wasn't happy on Sunday as he finished seventh behind the Mercedes of George Russell and Kimi Antonelli.

Williams drivers Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon, who took home double points at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Williams enjoyed another solid weekend with Carlos Sainz scoring points in eighth and Alex Albon following that up in ninth place, underlining a marked improvement by the squad in 2025.

Rookie driver Isack Hadjar rounded out the top 10 for Racing Bulls with a long and gruelling stint on hard tyres. He took the final point but admitted that overhauling the Williams was a step too far, as Sainz was essentially 'towing' Albon - giving his team-mate use of the Drag Reduction System (DRS) - for much of the race.

Fernando Alonso missed out on points with 11th place for Aston Martin as the team struggles to find pace in 2025.

Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda and Alpine's Pierre Gasly crashed out of the race early on and were the sole retirements in Saudi Arabia.

The field regroups and returns in Miami on May 2-4, 2025, for the second sprint weekend and sixth race of 2025.
