The Aramco Pole Position Award was first presented at the 2025 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix weekend at Imola, Italy, where Rafael Camara (Prema) and Dino Beganovic (Hitech) were the respective F3 and F2 polesitters.

The award, which uses materials such as carbon fibre and incorporates 3D printing, showcases Aramco’s efforts in exploring the possibilities of innovation and technology in fields such as motorsport, mobility, energy, and materials.

The drivers have expressed their excitement over receiving this extra trophy.

"It's good to get an award for pole," says 2025 F3 champion Camara, who clinched the very first Aramco Pole Position Award. It's nice, one more trophy to keep at home so you can tell your friends about it.”

“It’s always nice to get some trophies. It’s a great thing to add after the hard work we put in for quali and I hope to get more soon,” adds Campos Racing driver Nikola Tsolov, who has achieved three pole positions in F3 in 2025.

Prema's Ugo Ugochukwu said the trophy was a welcome addition.

“Quali [sessions] in F3 are really intense.

“It's almost like a one-lap shootout on each tyre, so I think when you pull it off and you do a good lap, it's good to get a reward for it.”

The Aramco Pole Position Award is usually presented on Fridays to the F2 and F3 drivers with the fastest lap time in their qualifying sessions. Those drivers then start Sunday’s Feature Race from pole position and gain two extra points for getting pole position.

“We are supporting their efforts to progress toward lowering emissions, and hope this innovatively designed trophy becomes a coveted addition to the F2 and F3 championships.

“This trophy builds on our success to date as the supplier of lower-carbon fuels to all 52 F2 & F3 cars.

“F2 & F3 serve as key testing grounds, seeing how these fuels perform on the track to learn how to develop lower-carbon fuel alternatives to conventional fuels in the future.”
