Aramco and its partner Aston Martin Aramco used the 2025 United States Grand Prix as an opportunity to shine a light on the importance of science, and the scientists behind it, in F1 - displaying scientific formulae key to F1 on the Aston Martin AMR25, in what is Aston Martin Aramco’s first special, one-off race livery.
At the livery launch event, members of Aston Martin Aramco joined employees at Aramco’s United States headquarters in Houston, Texas, to witness the new design being unveiled.

That event even spawned a full-circle moment in which one of eight students from a local robotics team, Aisha, returned after attending Aramco’s Generation 3 STEM event at the Houston facility in 2024, having been inspired to pursue her passion for engineering and motorsport.
Aisha has since enjoyed a tour of the AMRTC in Silverstone, United Kingdom - and now, Aston Martin Aramco is opening up a similar opportunity with the Aramco STEM Challenge.
This competition gives the next generation of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) professionals the chance to complete a series of challenges and compete for the chance to win a life-changing placement at the AMR Technology Campus at Silverstone, United Kingdom.
Need that final push to apply for the competition? See what students who took part in the recent Aramco summer university placement had to say about their time at the AMRTC.

An ‘absolutely amazing’ experience at the AMRTC
The Aramco STEM Challenge follows on from the continued work that Aramco has done to promote STEM education through its partnership with Aston Martin Aramco. The partners have welcomed students to the AMRTC for a special summer internship programme which gave them invaluable hands-on experience in sustainability-related projects.
The students learned about various concepts, including improved circularity (keeping materials in use longer through reuse and recycling), reducing emissions (carbon released during production and transport), and enhancing energy efficiency (achieving more output with less energy input).
In 2025, more students were welcomed with more hands-on experience at the AMRTC, giving them even deeper understanding about F1 concepts and teamwork, and the chance to make a greater impact than before.
Beyond technical work, the programme provided valuable real-world learning, collaboration with industry experts, solving complex challenges, and developing the skills they’ll need as the next generation of engineers.
“My experience working with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team has been absolutely amazing. I could not have envisaged a better summer this year; being at the forefront of innovation has been a stellar experience, and I can’t wait to see the results soon,” said Mohammed.

He explained that he was working in composite manufacturing, improving reliability and optimising manufacturing steps in a project that he said “rapidly accelerated” as he gained crucial problem-solving skills through the internship.
Ziyad, another student in the internship, explained that he was working on producing carbon fibre parts that will be implemented on the 2026 Aston Martin Aramco F1 car.
“The thing I’m most proud of in this internship is working on components that will be implemented on next year’s car.

“This programme has served as a stepping stone to deepen my interest in F1. After I graduate, I would love to return and work in the F1 industry, furthering what I’ve learned in this internship.”
Fellow student Zahra explained that she has been working with a “digital twin” of the AMRTC - a digital replica of the facility - to simulate processes and predict scenarios in order to optimise the utilisation of the production machines.
“One of the proudest moments from the past four weeks was discovering and compiling data concerning the use of one production machine over the past 18 months, reviewing its usage, and presenting my findings to team members at Aston Martin Aramco,” she said.
“It will help with reducing material waste and make the process of producing a car much more efficient.”
Zahra added: “Aramco’s support wasn’t just limited to sponsoring my education. It’s gone beyond that to allowing me to gain hands-on experience in the workplace, as this internship opportunity at Aston Martin Aramco has done. So I’m really grateful, and I would like to thank the teams at Aramco and AMAF1 for giving me this chance.”
The stories of these interns reveal what happens when Aramco provides talented and driven students access to the world-class facilities and real-world challenges found at Aston Martin Aramco.
This is a launchpad, a catalyst for your interest in STEM, amid the inspiring background of F1.
